I lived on cape cod for 30 years and houses there fall into the sea also.
Suki, thank you for stopping by! People here wonder why the sea defences of that stretch of beach isn't repaired any more, because elsewhere they're repairing all the time. Some house owners even started to set up their own defenses with concrete, but it's very expensive, and I think most have just given up and are about to loose everything.
